Evening wear Designer

MIZPHENIX, 3 Kim Chuan Lane \ July 2022 - Present​

Creative Skills:

• Styled clients by finding gowns that flatter them and fit the overall theme of the event that they would be attending.

• Designing gowns that are in-trend, whilst ensuring that they enhance the femininity and individuality of the wearer.

Research Skills:

• Constantly updating myself on the latest fashion trends, such as details and color by researching Vogue Runway, and WGSN. Other than that, I also do weekly inspiration research on Pinterest, as well as XiaoHongShu to see which kinds of evening wear gowns are popular amongst the Millenials and Gen Zs.

Creative Skills:

• Styled clients by finding gowns that flatter them and fit the overall theme of the photoshoot/wedding. Additionally, finding the right accessories to complement the gown's overall aesthetic (veil, necklace, earrings, hair pieces, off-shoulders).

• When clients request for specific alterations to the gowns, such as adding on off-shoulders/straps, or embellishments (lace/beads), I had to ensure that the alterations made would not only fit the client's requirements but also not change the overall aesthetic of the gown.

Problem-Solving Skills:

• When my supervisor and stylists were away at a company event when a client approached us to tighten her gown around the waist and hips. Since the seamstress was not around that day, I worked together with the remaining colleagues and we managed to hand-sew the alterations, whilst ensuring the other appointments were completed in time as well.

Multitasking Skills:

• Whilst ensuring that the alterations were completed in time for collection, I was always tasked to work on the Cheongsam project, which required me to perform research as well as embroidery to create new Cheongsam designs.

Communication Skills:

• Assisted the Designer with about 150 garment measurements and adjustments for the student performers (secondary school, MINDS), NSF, and adult performers (racial harmony) in preparation for NDP 2021.

Teamwork:

• Ensured that the tasks were completed in time for the filming and rehearsals.

Organizational Skills:

• Ensured that all garments were correctly labeled and packed into their respective garment bags.

• Assisted customers with product selection, for example, recommending the appropriate accessories for the occasion.

• Ensured the store and products' cleanliness.
